GENEVA, Nov 13 — A rare square 37-carat emerald owned by the Aga Khan fetched nearly nine million dollars at auction in Geneva on Tuesday, making it the world’s most expensive green stone.

According to Max Fawcett, Head of Jewellery at Christie's EMEA, the emerald’s remarkable quality and the current high demand for emeralds in the market contributed to its record-breaking price.
