Everyone at Rate Field was disappointed when Garrett Crochet's no-hit bid was broken up in the eighth inning Sunday. Alex Cora, however, was relieved.

One never wants to go full doomsday in April, but the Boston Red Sox are making it difficult to be optimistic about their offense. Since scoring 18 runs on Sunday Night Baseball on Apr. 6, the Red Sox have scored just 14 runs in eight games.

“It seems like there was a team that was prepared for the other one and the other one wasn’t prepared for them,” Cora said. “That goes from top all the way to the bottom. That wasn’t a good night for us. I’ll take the blame because it seemed like our team wasn’t ready to go.”
