Dylan Harper, son of Ron Harper, was selected No. 2 in the NBA draft by the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday night.

If Harper lives up to his potential, he can sign an extension with the Spurs that counts up to 25 percent of the $141-million salary cap. If he becomes a truly elite player — i.e., capable of landing on an all-NBA team during his first four years in the league — he can sign one that reaches 30 percent of the cap.
