Dino Fire initially started 2:58 p.m. June 11 in Santa Clara County. After being active for 25 hours, it has burned 266 acres. A fire crew of 42 succeeded in containing 80% of the fire as of Thursday afternoon. The cause of it is still under investigation.

SANTA CLARA COUNTY – Cal Fire crews on Thursday were continuing to battle brush fires that broke out Wednesday near the San Luis Reservoir and in southeastern San Benito County.

Cal Fire crews responded to a fire near the San Luis Reservoir in Santa Clara County that began around 3 p.m. on Wednesday. The fire had grown to 200 acres around 5:40 p.m., and Cal Fire said they had achieved 45% containment. Named the Dino Fire, it started burning near eastbound Highway 152 and Dinosaur Point Road.
