Chasing a loose kangaroo is getting to be part of the job for police in a southwestern Colorado town. Irwin, the pet kangaroo, wasn’t difficult to nab when he got loose last fall in Durango, Colorado. Still quite young at the time, he leapt into a bag similar to a mother kangaroo’s pouch.

An “unexpected repeat offender” led cops on a chase through a Colorado town — for the second time in less than a year. The creature tries to hop around an officer in a narrow alleyway along a building, but the officer captures the runaway kangaroo before it can make its escape, video shared by the Durango Police Department shows.
