Former LSU wide receiver Kyren Lacy has died. Lacy was facing a court date Monday for a fatal hit-and-run accident.

Former LSU wide receiver Kyren Lacy has died at the age of 24, an LSU official confirmed to CBS Sports on Sunday. According to the Harris County Sheriff's Office in Houston, Texas, police were originally called to investigate a disturbance involving Lacy where he allegedly discharged a weapon into the ground during an argument with a family member.

The 24-year-old was facing legal trouble from a Dec. 17 incident in which he was accused of causing a crash that led to the death of a 78-year-old man. Authorities said Lacy fled the scene and was later charged with negligent homicide, reckless vehicle operation and felony hit-and-run resulting in death.
