Three Palestinians were killed and scores more injured by an Israeli air strike in the occupied West Bank city of Jenin on Wednesday, the Palestinian Red Crescent said.

WARNING: violent content] Six Palestinians were killed overnight Tuesday by Israeli airstrikes in Jenin, in the northern West Bank. The Palestinian Ministry of Health confirmed the incident, also reporting several wounded who were taken to local hospitals for medical care.

“Today, once the ceasefire is officially announced and applied in Gaza, life will start again despite the difficulty, the loss of the martyrs, the loved ones, the friends, the relatives, the injured,” he told MEE. “We lost our friends, our loved ones. My brother lost his legs, and my daughter, a young girl, was hit in the eye.”

Celebrations erupted across Gaza as news spread of an imminent ceasefire announcement, with people rejoicing at the idea of more humanitarian aid coming in, and an end to Israeli airstrikes.

People celebrated in the streets of Deir al-Balah in the Gaza Strip on Wednesday following the announcement by mediators that a ceasefire deal had been reached between Israel and Hamas.
