Peacemaker was among the first James Gunn projects for the DC Studios. The now co-CEO is rebooting the universe with Peter Safran, but Peacemaker will continue to be canon to the upcoming franchise. Peacemaker premiered in 2022 andserved as a spinoff based on the filmmaker's 2021 film The Suicide Squad.
