The opening event Thursday evening is the Skills Showdown, where players will take place in various challenges. There is an accuracy test of quarterbacks, catching competition for wide receivers, tight ends, and defensive backs, relay races, a game-show-like competition, and a dodgeball tournament.

Two other players with Alabama football roots were chosen for the Pro Bowl Games but are not participating – Philadelphia Eagles guard Landon Dickerson (Alabama) and Baltimore Ravens running back Derrick Henry (Alabama).

Defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons is the latest replacement player added to the AFC Pro Bowl roster. Simmons will take the place of Ravens defensive tackle Nnamdi Madubuike for the skill competitions and other festivities in Orlando, Florida.
