NORTH PORT — After two days without much of either, the Rays got sharp pitching and a couple of key hits Sunday. And, thus, they also got their first win of the spring, beating the Braves 4-2.

Rejoice: for the first time in 139 days, the Philadelphia Phillies won a baseball game! In the first look at the 2025 version of a member of their vaunted rotation, they held on to beat the Tampa Bay Rays 5-4 in Swing-and-Misstopher Sanchez’s re-launch.

The Rays won’t have many more days like this at George M. Steinbrenner Field. When the team bus rolled in from Charlotte Sports Park on Friday morning, players and staff piled out and took a quick left turn into the visitor’s clubhouse.
