The Washington Capitals suffered a major setback during their 6-3 loss to the Montreal Canadiens in Game 3 at Bell Centre on Friday night, and it had nothing to do with the loss itself. Starting goaltender Logan Thompson left the game with an apparent injury after a collision with teammate Dylan Strome late in the third period.

The Washington Capitals and Montreal Canadiens each lost their No. 1 goaltender in Game 3 of their first-round series.

The Capitals again managed to outlast a late push by the Canadiens thanks to what Ryan Leonard called "extraordinary" saves in net.
