The Chicago White Sox announced that they have called up catcher Kyle Teel, the No. 2 prospect in the organization and No. 26 overall prospect in the minors, per MLB.com.

The former Mahwah High School baseball standout and first-round draft pick was promoted to the Chicago White Sox on June 5.

Already in Chicago is well regarded 22-year-old rookie catcher Edgar Quero, and he's atop the depth chart at the moment. It remains to be seen how Teel will be used behind the plate, assuming Quero remains on the big-league roster. A job-sharing arrangement is one possibility.
