Emergency crews suspended their search for victims of catastrophic flooding in central Texas on Sunday morning amid new warnings that additional rain would again cause waterways to surge. It was the first time a new round of severe weather has paused the search since the flooding earlier this month.

In Kerrville, authorities went door-to-door to some homes early Sunday to alert people that flooding was again possible.

A flood watch was in effect for more than a dozen counties as authorities resumed the search for victims of the July 4 tragedy.

More than 130 people are dead after devastating flooding in the Texas Hill Country that began early on the Fourth of July.

Heavy rains caused multiple rivers in Central and North Texas to swell by more than 20 feet. Search efforts for victims of the July Fourth floods were suspended until Monday.
