Hundreds of letters are en route to Washington, D.C., after more than 500 Utahns convened at a coffee shop Thursday to put their displeasure with Sen. Mike Lee in writing.

Sen. Martin Heinrich of New Mexico called Mike Lee’s land-sale proposal “horsesh*t” and said “85% of the money from these sales would go to pay for tax cuts” for the wealthy.

Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah) is trying to revive a reduced version of his controversial plan to sell off public lands to private housing developers. Driving the news: Lee told Scripps on Wednesday that a new version of the proposal is "being argued with the [Senate] Parliamentarian.
