When the Lions-Commanders game time was announced as 8 p.m. on Saturday, the Pistons' game was moved up and hour to 4 p.m. That allowed a window for Booker, a Lions fan, and teammate Kevin Durant, a Maryland native and Commanders fan, to make it to the game less than a mile away at Ford Field.
Despite Beal’s absence, Devin Booker took over the game. ‘Book’ led all scorers with 37 points, while Durant finished with a solid 23 points and 6 rebounds. Durant’s return home was met with love from the crowd, who cheered him during his pregame warmup, and he took the time to sign multiple autographs for fans.
