Washington — Senate Democrats on Tuesday blocked a Republican-led measure that would sanction the International Criminal Court, arguing that the bill as written would backfire on U.S. allies and companies.
Senate Democrats blocked consideration of legislation sanctioning the International Criminal Court for issuing arrest warrants against Israeli leaders after failing to reach an agreement with Republicans to narrow the legislation.
The senators said they would cooperate with the GOP to address "pressing border security and immigration needs”
The GOP-led bill, which got some Democratic support, will head back to the House for approval before it goes to Trump for his signature.
