Pulisic had scored an early goal at San Siro against Liverpool and he did so again on Sunday. Henrikh Mkhitaryan tried to chest the ball down but Pulisic nipped in to steal it, used his speed to surge forward and his strength to hold off another three defenders as he did so, before firing into the bottom left corner.

MILAN (Reuters) -Matteo Gabbia headed home the winner in the closing minutes as AC Milan secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Inter Milan in Serie A on Sunday. Defender Gabbia evaded his marker and found the top corner with a perfectly timed header from a free kick into the box in the 89th minute.

AC Milan needed to respond after losing to Liverpool in the Champions League opening game, and Rossoneri manager Paulo Fonseca needed it to save his job after a poor start to the season. AC Milan won 2-1 in the first Derby della Madonnina of the season against Inter on Sunday thanks to the goals of USMNT winger Christian Pulisic and the deciding one of defender Matteo Gabbia.
