If the Celtics are going to have a chance to sign Lillard, they will have to sign him to at least a two-year deal since he has a torn Achilles. They will also need to make some other moves to make it work. If Boston is going to be a viable team to bring Lillard in, they will need to clear some room to offer him the mid-level exception.

According to reports, the Boston Celtics have some interest, and it makes plenty of sense. Whether they view him as a star instantly when he returns from his injury, or someone they can pair with Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown in certain sets, there's reason to believe that Lillard would be a great fit.

The Celtics could not offer Damian Lillard much now in free agency but changes to the roster would change that.
