The ongoing feud between NXT champion Ethan Page and Trick Williams added a new twist. Roxanna Perez and Giulia also continue to add momentum towards their championship match. Both feuds will get a chance to settle the score in the ring with title matches in the first CW episode.

CM Punk will be the special guest referee when Ethan Page defends his NXT Championship against Trick Williams on the October 1st episode of NXT in Chicago. Punk made the announcement on the Spetember 17th episode of NXT after Williams and Page signed the contract for the match.

Tuesday night’s WWE NXT episode, featuring an appearance by CM Punk, averaged 677,000 viewers on USA Network. That’s up 7.8 percent from last week and is the best audience total for the show since June 18.

Trick Williams defeated Pete Dunne to earn a shot at the NXT Championship on October 1st. Williams was able to outlast Dunne in a Last Man Standing match on the September 10th episode of NXT.
