A new wildfire was reported today at 4:16 p.m. in Los Angeles County. The wildfire has been burning on private land. Currently, there is no data on the containment status of the fire and the cause has yet to be determined.

The return of the rain in Los Angeles has triggered Flash Flood Warnings, mudslides and debris flows in burn-scar areas, forcing officials to close roads and schools in the region.

Thousands of firefighters have been battling wildfires across 45 square miles of densely populated Los Angeles County. The two largest fires, the Palisades Fire in Pacific Palisades and the Eaton Fire near Pasadena, remain active. One of the latest, the Hughes Fire in the Castaic area, has prompted evacuation orders for tens of thousands of people.

Montana firefighters have returned from Los Angeles where they were helping local crews battling the Palisades Fire.
