An Orlando Police Department officer shot an armed man at a gas station near South John Young Parkway on Friday afternoon. Police said they received reports around 2:20 p.m. of a man dressed in all black with a gun in a BP gas station.

Smith said during the news conference that officers confronted the man on the sidewalk outside the gas station and he refused verbal commands to drop the gun — after which an OPD officer shot him. He faced charges including resisting without violence, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and unlawful exhibition of a firearm.

A suspect police said was acting suspiciously and carrying a gun near a busy Orlando intersection has died after an officer-involved shooting. Police said Saturday that 63-year-old Marvin Martin died of "unknown complications" after the shooting.

The Orlando Police Department said officers shot and killed a suspect after responding to a domestic disturbance Monday night.
