Pope Leo XIV, the world's first US pope, plans to meet with US Vice President JD Vance, a converted Catholic, on Sunday, when there will be an inaugural mass for the new pontiff, Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin said on Friday.

Vice President JD Vance will be in Rome this weekend for the inaugural Mass of Pope Leo XIV. Vance, who met with the late Pope Francis on Easter Sunday just hours before Francis’s death, will make another trip to the Vatican to greet Francis’s successor.
