Russell Martin had been a rumoured contender to succeed Ruud van Nistelrooy at the King Power Stadium but has now signed a contract to take over as Rangers manager

Rangers have named Russell Martin as the club's new head coach. Martin, 39, played 15 matches for Rangers during a short spell on loan from Norwich City in 2018. He has been out of work since he was sacked by Southampton in December with the club rooted to the bottom of the Premier League.

Russell Martin has signed a three-year contract to become the new head coach of Rangers. The 39-year-old succeeds interim manager Barry Ferguson, who only took over from Philippe Clermont in February.
