Ryan Strome scored the tiebreaking goal with 3:24 to play, and the Anaheim Ducks blew a two-goal lead in the third period before recovering for a 3-2 victory over the New Jersey Devils.

The Ducks were coming off a surprising 5-3 victory over a Stanley Cup-favorite Edmonton Oilers team on Sunday. The Devils entered this game, their first of a back-to-back, having won six of their last eight games and are in second place in the Metropolitan Division.

For the final game of 2024, the Anaheim Ducks and the New Jersey Devils faced off to ring in the new year. Although the Devils made an impressive comeback in the third period, it was the Ducks who would be victorious 3-2 on home ice.

The Anaheim Ducks hosted the Edmonton Oilers for a Sunday matinee one day after a Saturday matinee loss to the Philadelphia Flyers. The Oilers were also playing their second game of a back-to-back after they lost 4-3 in overtime against the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday. The Oilers had defeated the Ducks seven straight times coming into this game.
