A Florida deputy was arrested last week after he was caught trying to sneak MDMA pills onto a cruise ship in Skittles bags, authorities said.

According to an arrest report, in December, detectives had a confidential informant purchase drugs from Deputy Francisco Javier Melo.

Francisco Melo, 36, was behind bars on Friday morning after detectives arrested him at the Royal Caribbean terminal in PortMiami before boarding the Allure of the Seas, according to NewsNation affiliate WFLA.

Investigators said Deputy Francisco Javier Melo purchased 12 MDMA pills from an informant for $240. Investigators say Melo planned to attend a music festival on Royal Caribbean’s Allure of the Seas cruise ship.
