After Tim Connelly’s first season as Timberwolves president of basketball operations, he was high on Naz Reid. When Reid was a free agent two summers ago, Connelly signed him to his second contract, even though the franchise had Karl-Anthony Towns and Rudy Gobert as its starting frontcourt.

Minnesota Timberwolves center Naz Reid signed a five-year, $125 million deal with the team, staying in Minnesota for the foreseeable future.

Reid initially signed a two-way contract with the Timberwolves on July 5, 2019, as an undrafted free agent from LSU. His contract was converted from a two-way deal to a regular contract 13 days later. He had previously signed a contract extension in June 2023.
