The Senate passed the bill 54-46 on Friday. The Democrats who voted to pass the funding bill were Schumer and Sens. John Fetterman (D-PA), Angus King (I-VT), Dick Durbin (D-IL), Brian Schatz (D-HI), Catherine Cortez Masto (D-NV), Maggie Hassan (D-NH), Gary Peters (D-MI), Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY), and Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH).

President Donald Trump has signed into law legislation funding the government through the end of September. His signature Saturday ends the threat of a partial government shutdown and caps off a struggle in Congress that deeply divided Democrats.

The bill was passed just hours before a midnight deadline to avoid a lapse in funding, which would have shut down the government.
