A new feature by food delivery app Zomato intending to cut food wastage plans to provide cancelled orders at greatly reduced prices. The 'food rescue' plan comes amid 4 lakh orders getting cancelled a month.

Explaining the feature, Zomato said that when an order is cancelled, the meal will become available to nearby customers at an "unbeatable price" and in its original, untampered packaging.

More than 400,000 orders are cancelled by customers on the platform per month for multiple reasons despite a no-refund policy, according to Goyal. Cancelled orders will appear for customers located within a 3 km radius of the delivery partner carrying the order.
